Sara Molinari

Sara Molinari is an assistant professor in the Fischell Department of Bioengineering. Her research focuses on engineered living materials, which are composites of living cells embedded in a biopolymer matrix, designed to combine unique biological and mechanical functions. By engineering both the cellular and matrix components, Molinari's work creates multifunctional living materials that can self-assemble, self-repair, and perform in complex environments—offering transformative applications in healthcare and agriculture.
