Magaly Toro

Magaly Toro is an associate research professor of nutrition and food science. Her research focuses on molecular epidemiology, food safety, food microbiology, and environmental microbiology. As the director of UMD's Center for Food Safety and Security Systems, Toro leads genomic surveillance projects and oversees international collaborations with partners in academia, government, and industry.
